Churchill Mk.III - October 9th, 2009

Not the best looking tank in the world… After a few months without touching models, I decided to restart. Instead of finalizing the models I have almost ready (and this seems to happen to all of us) I wanted to do something from scratch. I opened the box of a Dingo Mk IB from Miniart only to discover [...]

Entwicklungsfahrzeug E-10 - April 17th, 2009

"A paper panzer" The first time I saw a picture of this tank I fell in love with the incredibly modern design and pure lines. Then, some time later on a magazine there was a beautiful build of one and this made me want one even more. But is was a resin model (by Accurate [...]

Carro Armato Fiat L6/40 - March 29th, 2009

Italeri relaunched the Fiat Ansaldo L6/40 in a limited Edition kit. The most noticeable change is the addition of link and length tracks (something that the M13/40 should have) and the booklet with pictures and history of the tank. An interior is provided and a small etched brass fret complete this very nice kit.

Pz. Kpfw. III Ausf L - January 16th, 2009

Gemany's  medium tank I bought this kit a while ago and now it's time to build it. I've yet to build one model based on this chassis, in spite of having several of them, from the Stug III B, G to a couple of versions of the Pz III. It's a much more elegant chassis than [...]

SdKfz 11 and leFH 18 10.5 - December 10th, 2008

While doing the SdKfz 250/3 I became very fond of these half tracks. The 250 and 251 always appealed me but there are other HT’s that I never considered building. While browsing my favorite WEB store (Blast Models) I found this one from AFV Club and I liked it a lot. The artillery piece is included in the same [...]

Staghound Mk I - October 25th, 2008

The American AFV that USA never used   I must confess that I’m not the biggest fan of allied armor. When I have to decide to buy a new kit, my choices lie with the Axis AFV’s. However there are some examples that are so significant from the historical point of view, that it’s impossible [...]

M5A1 Stuart - June 23rd, 2008

My first AFV Club kit It seems to be a very simple kit to build and sometimes I want quick results. It happened with the Miniart T70 and I’m wanting something that I don’t want to invest to much time in preparing for paint. I want to concentrate on paint techniques and this one seems [...]

Pz. Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. G - June 10th, 2008

Gruber’s "Little" tank When I started building the Hetzer, I started to like the layout of this tank. It’s vintage looks start to grow on me, and it’s role in the beginning of the war was somewhat crucial. The annexation of Czechoslovakia allowed Germany to put the Czech tank into service. It’s main advantage was [...]

IDF Tiran 5 - April 22nd, 2008

The other T55… Yet another Israeli tank… Israel has a long history of conflicts with its neighbors. Since the Independence war, two major wars and an ongoing conflict that lasts till today has turned their armed forces into  a very effective machine, and often with surprising results. There is something in their ingenuity that distinguishes [...]

Tiger I (Late) - March 16th, 2008

"The" heavy tank     One of the most important tanks of WWII is the Tiger. It was the example of sheer power and the tank of one of the most remarkable aces of WWII – Michael Wittman. With it’s huge gun and sophisticated optics it could outgun anything available at that time. Penetrating it’s [...]
